SDPPI, Postel and DJID are the same certification under different names. SDPPI and Postel are legacy terms still used across the industry; DJID, under the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, is the directorate that issues the certificate today.
If someone presents "Postel certification" and "SDPPI certification" as two separate jobs, they are describing the same job twice.

The trigger is the radio function, not the product category. A kitchen appliance with Bluetooth falls under the same obligation as a router.
- Wi-Fi and RLAN devices across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands

Domestic laboratory or a recognised foreign laboratory, depending on what your reports already cover.
Submission
Application through the DJID e-certification system, linked to an Indonesian OSS account.

Questions we get asked
Is SDPPI certification different from Postel or DJID certification?
No. They are the same approval under different names. SDPPI and Postel are legacy terms still widely used in the industry, while DJID is the directorate that issues the certificate today. One product, one application, one certificate — if someone treats the names as separate jobs, they are describing the same job twice.
Can a foreign manufacturer hold the certificate?
No. The applicant must be an Indonesian legal entity responsible for circulation of the product. That is your own local entity, your appointed importer or distributor, or us acting as your local representative.
Will our existing test reports be accepted?
It depends on the issuing laboratory and the standards covered. We review your reports first and tell you whether they can be relied on before you spend anything on samples or shipping.
What happens with product variants?
Variants of an approved model can often be handled as a family rather than as a fresh application. We map the variants at scoping so the certificate structure matches your product roadmap instead of fighting it.
Does the certificate expire?
Yes. Type approval certificates carry a validity period and have to be renewed, and a lapsed certificate can stop shipments. We track validity, variations and renewal windows as part of the engagement rather than leaving it to your calendar.
