BPOM
Product registration with the National Agency of Drug and Food Control. Without a BPOM number, the product cannot be legally distributed in Indonesia.
At a glance
BPOM is one regulator, but it is not one process. The registration route for a lipstick, a protein powder and a diagnostic device differ sharply in dossier, evidence and timeline.
We scope by product family first, because getting the family and risk class right is what sets everything that follows.
By product family
Each has its own dossier, its own timeline and its own traps. Pick the closest match — if your product straddles two, the assessment will settle it.

FAQ
You need an Indonesian entity to hold the registration. That can be your own PT PMA, your distributor, or us acting as your local representative. The choice matters more than it first appears: it decides who controls the registration if you later change partners.
It depends on the family. Cosmetics are typically notified per variant. Food and supplements depend on how far the formulations differ. We map the full variant list at the start, so nothing surfaces halfway through that you did not plan for.
For many food, beverage and cosmetic products, yes. BPOM registration and halal certification are separate obligations under separate authorities, and they are best planned together — the two dossiers share much of the same source documentation.
Whoever is named as the holder. This is the most common trap for foreign brands: the product is registered under the distributor, and the brand discovers it cannot move when the relationship ends. We settle the holder structure before filing, not after.
Registrations carry a validity period and must be renewed, with the term varying by product family. Letting one lapse means the product cannot legally be distributed until it is restored, so we track renewal dates alongside the registration itself.
